BismillaahirRahmanirRahiim
Strange and for pity is the situation of the Muslims nowadays. We see them knowing the history of every Soccer player, or Artist from TeleNovelas and Movies , but how little is their knowledge of the life of the best human being our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallAllaahu alayhi wasalaam. What made us busy from learning his life alayhi salaam, what stopped us from taking Him alayhi salaam as a Role Model? Is it our desires ? or our daily chores? Or our environment? Let us ask ourselves and find a solution.
There is many factors that will help us from learning the Prophet’s Sallallaahu alayhi wa salaam Seerah.
Firstly, we learn from Sufyan Uyayn –Rahimahullah- that Seerah is a SCALE that will measure our deeds. It means just then we know that if our deed is right or wrong. When this SCALE was left behind, people either went to extremism or loss. But when we know the Seerah of the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wasalaam we know if we are in the right path, for example you understand wether you are a good Wife or not, good Spouse or bad Spouse, good servant or not good etc, we also understand that what comes from the behave and guidance of the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam is approved and the opposite is
refused.
SEERAAH is the MIZAAN of the DEEDS
Allaah subhanehu ue tea’la orders us to follow Prophet Muhammad sallAllaahu alayhi wa salaam:” There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.” [Surah Ahzab;21]
Indeed from the blessings of having knowledge of the Sunnah and of having insight into the path of the our forefathers and following it, is that you see the fruits of the knowledge of the Sunnah apparent on its companion, you see it in his worship, his dealings, you witness it in his knowledge, his seeking knowledge and his teaching it. The Sahaba, Tabiin and Tabi Tabiin -Rahimehumllaah- gave us good, beautiful examples of this, and glowing, radiant representations (of this) in their lofty, righteous, biographies. It is established from Ibn Masood that he said: ‘If a man from among us learnt ten Ayaat, he would not go beyond them until he knew their meanings and acted upon them. It is established from Sufyaan ath-Thawri -Rahimullaah- that he said: ‘Beautify knowledge with your own selves [with worship] and do not beautify (yourselves) with knowledge.’ It is established from Abdullaah bin al-Mubarak -Rahimullaah- that he said: ‘It is necessary for the one among you who has the most knowledge to be the most fearful of Allaah.’
It is established from Sufyaan ath-Thawri -Rahimullaah- that he said: ‘Indeed knowledge is learnt so a person can have Taqwa of Allaah due to that knowledge. Indeed knowledge has an excellence above anything else; this is so a person can have Taqwa of Allaah due to that knowledge.’
Imam Sufyaan ath-Thawri -Rahimullaah- said: ‘Knowledge calls for action, so actions should be the response otherwise knowledge will leave.’
Sahabaa’s life explain to us what our Prophet alayhi salaam meant by his actions. Knowing them helps us understand what Prophet Muhammad alayhi salaam taught us and makes us love Him alayhi salaam more. Learning Seerah helps you understand in global the Message of Islam, exp: why Prophet Muhammad alayhi salaam called 13 years for Tawheed and after for Shariah in Madinah, the rakaah of solat, etc so the Sunnah is explaining us the DEEN. And lastly, knowing the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad alayhi salaam makes us understand the Qur’an, his life was all Qur’an.
Let us reniew our Niyah’s and may Allaah put sincere in us, to learn for His sake and to
practice what we learn ameen.
